St. Elizabeth Alum, Lauren Birks, senior at Bishop Dunne competed at the USA Girls Wrestling National Championship on March 14 and 15 in Oklahoma City and became a National Champion. This is the third time that Lauren has qualified for the National Tournament; previously placing 11th and 7th in the nation. This year Lauren won the tournament and was crowned National Champion in the 165 pound weight class. Lauren won a low scoring semi-final match beating her opponent from Coppell 2-0. In the finals Lauren won by pinning her opponent in 4 minutes and 37 seconds to become Bishop Dunne's first National Champion. Lauren finished her senior season with 29 wins and 3 losses.

St. Elizabeth’s 7th Grade Girls Basketball team maintained their winning tradition snagging the DPL D2 7th Grade Girls Championship for the second year in a row in a hard fought battle against St. Thomas Aquinas finishing with a final score of 30-26! Way to go Saints!
