There are so many exciting and inspiring new developments in the world of educational technology today. For the past six years, St. Elizabeth of Hungary Catholic School has made technology one of its highest priorities. In an ever-advancing technological world, we believe technology should be an integral part of the educational experience. This year, our working goal is to provide our teachers and students with the “hottest” device in high-tech teaching – The Apple iPad!

The Apple iPad is one of the most innovative educational tools in the marketplace today, and the entire St. Elizabeth student body can greatly benefit by the versatility and convenience of these multifaceted machines. The iPad is remarkably uncomplicated to use. Students can pick it up and instantly navigate the device with little or no experience. It also possesses portability that is not available with other devices. The iPad allows students to explore, communicate, and work together at their own pace and in their own way. Imagine the students’ excitement during a lesson as they manipulate their iPads simultaneously with their teacher!

Today’s educational system does not allow students the luxury of having the teacher to themselves all day. The iPad can fill some of this void by guiding learning, offering instant feedback, and gives students the ability to pause-rewind and replay in their learning. Allowing students to learn collaboratively frees the teacher to spend more time guiding students individually on their personal learning journey.

HOW CAN I HELP?
Your contribution to St. Elizabeth School’s iPad Project will demonstrate that you share in the school’s commitment to the highest standards of academic excellence. The successful funding of this project will provide our students with an educational tool that will empower and uplift students in their learning. We are once again asking each St. Elizabeth of Hungary family to consider giving $250.00 or more to our Development Drive.

We understand that many of us cannot afford to give the requested amount during this drive, but we ask you to give what you can. All gifts are appreciated, regardless of size. Please remember that your contribution is 100% tax deductible! Consider making this a monthly payment while paying your household bills.

ARE CONTRIBUTIONS TAX-DEDUCTIBLE?
Gifts to the iPad Project are tax-deductible to the extent allowable by law. Pledges are due by May 31, 2012. If you wish to take a charitable deduction in the current year, you must fulfill your contribution by December 31, 2011.

Also, you may want to consider a charitable donation of stock to St. Elizabeth School. If you transfer stock before December 31, 2011, you can claim the tax deduction on your tax return – of course, you should always check with your own tax advisor before making a gift of stock or securities.
