Frequently Asked Questions

Q. How much are dues?
A: Dues are FREE! Every parent and/or guardian of a student at St. Elizabeth's is a member of Home & School.

Q. What is the difference between the Home & School Association and the Advisory Council?
A: Home & School's primary mission is coordinating volunteer efforts and fundraising. The Advisory Council is a consultative body to the Pastor and Principal on school guidelines and policy.

Q: Are Home & School meetings open to everyone?
A: Yes! The Home & School Association meets at 7:00 p.m., the first Tuesday of every month in the faculty lounge.

Q. How do I volunteer? Where do I keep track of my hours?
A: Volunteering is easy! You can fill out your family volunteer commitment form listing your volunteer talents and choices, and send it in to Anna Caldwell. Also keep an eye out for monthly notices of upcoming volunteer opportunities. You can keep track of your hours with our handy notebook located on the front desk.

Q: I can't always get to the school to volunteer...are there ways for me to volunteer from home?
A: Sure! You can help with our "no-fuss fundraising" by counting and binding labels at home. You can also help send solicitation letters for the silent auction in the spring. If you are skilled in marketing or computers, there are various organizations within the school that could use your help. The opportunities are endless.

Q: Why do we need to raise money? Doesn't our tuition cover what the school needs?
A: Unfortunately, no. Tuition mainly covers our teacher salaries and basic maintenance of the school, but funds for major renovations and other amenities that public schools take for granted have to be generated through a combination of fundraising and assistance grants.
