FROM BETH BELCHER, RELIGION COORDINATOR
Happy, Happy Easter Season! Congratulations go out to Ms Contreras and the third grade for leading the school in the All-School Stations of the Cross before Easter break. They did a marvelous job in every way! I would like to send a huge thank you out to all parents for respecting the Lenten Season and waiting to have Easter Egg hunts and goodie bags until we were back in school! Bravo, parents!! As we move on in the last part of this year, please keep the Second Graders in your prayers as they continue to prepare for First Holy Communion which will take place on Saturday, May 10 at 10:30 am. Our outdoor, all-school May Crowning of the Blessed Mother’s statue, outside of the chapel, will take place on Friday, May 16, directly following the 8:00 am Mass. We hope that you will join us!

SCHOOL DEVELOPMENT
In memory of Isabel Fernandez, Isabel’s Garden has been installed on the playground blacktop next to the cafeteria. It was Isabel’s dream to have a new playground where children could play in a safe environment, worries could be forgotten, friendships could be built and imaginations could grow with God’s blessings. Through the loving efforts of friends, Girl Scout Troop 148, and the angels of Logan Landscaping, we dedicate this area as Isabel’s Garden.

THANK YOU to the Catholic Foundation for their approval of a grant in the amount of $35,000.00 to be used for the purchase of replacing the computers and monitors in both technology labs. The $35,000.00 is 55% of the amount needed to update both labs, so we are exploring other foundation prospects to attempt to raise the remaining funds.

Development Update: As of Tuesday, April 8th, total pledges and contributions to our Development Drive, are $14,042.00 from 33 families out of 242 (14%) and two Employers with Matching Funds. We are down nearly $9,000 from our April 2007 total. Think of what we could accomplish if every one of the 242 families at St. Elizabeth School participated at whatever level was possible for their family. Whether you donate $10.00 or $1,000, every gift is greatly appreciated and goes right back to your children. Those of you who pay your tuition through the Catholic Credit Union may want to consider making your Development contribution during the month May since your last tuition payment will be in April!

Thank you to the families who have made their pledges, your generosity is greatly appreciated.

ATHLETIC BOOSTER CLUB
Our basketball teams finished the season as strong as they started with both our 6th grade boys and 7th grade girls teams winning the championship. This was the first JV boys championship in recent history and the first Varsity championship in the sport here at St. Elizabeth. Congratulations to Coach Salters, Coach Borth, Coach Maxwell, and Coach Goegel, the 6th grade boys and the 7th grade girls. We have finished the first week of JV track and baseball/softball with terrific performances. Our Varsity track season will start on April 26th. Good luck to all of our athletes and GO SANTS!!!

Booster Club
We would like to thank Greg Borth, Dennis Vrana, Raymond Barrilleaux, Andy and Parker Reine for their hard work in preparing the field for this baseball/ softball season. We will meet this Thursday at 7:30 PM to discuss the remainder of the spring seasons as well as prepare to elect members to our booster board for next year. All those interested in serving on next year’s board should attend this meeting or contact Marta Martinez.
